1. Introduction

Influence Lift ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. By using our Service, you agree to this policy.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account data: Email address and (hashed) password when you register with email, or your name and email provided by Google when you register via Google OAuth.
  • LinkedIn profile data: Public profile information retrieved via LinkedIn OAuth (name, headline, profile URL, profile picture). We access this solely to personalise your generated content.
  • Professional profile inputs: Job title, areas of expertise, writing tone, and sample posts that you provide during onboarding.
  • Generated content: AI-generated LinkedIn posts produced on your behalf, including their status and publication timestamps.
  • Billing data: Subscription status and billing period. Payment card details are handled directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
  • Usage data: Log entries such as IP address, browser type, and pages accessed, for security and diagnostic purposes.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To generate AI-powered LinkedIn posts tailored to your professional persona.
  • To publish posts to your LinkedIn profile via the LinkedIn API, when authorised by you.
  • To process payments via Stripe.
  • To send transactional emails (e.g. email verification, billing receipts, service updates).
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising profiling.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

  • Contract: Processing necessary to provide the Service you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests: Security monitoring, fraud prevention, and service improvement.
  • Legal obligation: Where required by applicable law.
  • Consent: Where you have explicitly consented (e.g. email marketing, if offered).

5. Third-Party Services

We share data with trusted third-party providers only to the extent necessary to operate the Service:

  • OpenAI: Your professional profile inputs and headline content are sent to the OpenAI API to generate posts. OpenAI's data usage policies apply.
  • LinkedIn: We access your LinkedIn profile and publish posts on your behalf using OAuth tokens you explicitly grant. LinkedIn's Privacy Policy governs their handling of your data.
  • Stripe: All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We share only the minimum necessary information (email, subscription plan). Stripe's Privacy Policy governs payment data.
  • Google: If you register via Google, we receive your name and email from Google OAuth. Google's Privacy Policy applies.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Upon account termination:

  • Your account data and generated posts are deleted within 90 days.
  • You may request immediate deletion by contacting us at support@influencelift.com.
  • Billing records may be retained longer where required by tax or accounting law.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection / Restriction: Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
  • Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

9. Cookies

We use only strictly necessary session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies. No cookie consent banner is required for session-only cookies under ePrivacy rules.

10. International Transfers

Your data may be processed by our third-party providers (OpenAI, Stripe) in the United States. Where required by law, such transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
